It’s reported that the Taiwanese stainless steel makers are going to release list prices for next January this week.
Market participants forecasted that the Taiwanese stainless steel producers might hike the domestic prices by NT$2,000/ton for next January, driven by sharply increased nickel prices.
The LME nickel prices have stayed firmly at the level of US$17,000/ton since this December and it jumped to the level of US$17,500/ton currently, much higher than the average nickel prices in November.
Accordingly, it may support the Taiwanese stainless steel producers to raise the prices for next January.
However, it’s said that the foreign suppliers are currently offering cheap materials to the Taiwanese buyers. Thus, the Taiwanese stainless steel makers may adjust the prices in accordance with the market situation.
